Just days after top power forward target Bryce Golden chose the Butler Bulldogs over the Syracuse Orange, SU is back out there looking to fill that position in this year’s recruiting class.
According to his Twitter feed, Syracuse has now offered 2018 power forward Robert Braswell.

The Blythewood, S.C. product gets a three-star grade from 247Sports and is the 168th-best player in the class (though he’s not in the composite rankings). At 6-foot-9 and 175 pounds — but with a 7-foot wingspan -- the hope is that he can be a developmental project over the course of his career, and build a bigger frame with Syracuse.
SU is actually his second big offer, though he’s been pretty high on UMass to-date. Other offers have included Oklahoma State, Charlotte, Fordham, Hofstra and Murray State. Orange assistant Allen Griffin visited Braswell in mid-April, but seems like an offer was contingent on Golden’s decision.
There’s no timetable for Braswell to make a pick, though obviously if UMass is our top competition, you’d have to like our odds (plus, he’s already a fan of the official NFL team of SU, the Jacksonville Jaguars). Syracuse could certainly use another forward this year following Darius Bazley’s decommitment and Matthew Moyer’s transfer. There are just four scholarship forwards on the roster right now: Paschal Chukwu, Bourama Sidibe, Oshae Brissett and Marek Dolezaj.
Congrats on the offer, Robert! Hope to see you in orange soon.
