The Syracuse Orange men’s basketball schedule keeps coming together, as SU adds another non-conference foe today. This one should come as absolutely no surprise, of course...

Syracuse will host the Cornell Big Red on December 1 at the Carrier Dome, pitting Jim Boeheim and 2018 freshman Buddy Boeheim against Jimmy Boeheim on the opposite sideline. Jim and Jimmy faced off last season at the Dome, and while Syracuse won 77-45, Jimmy scored 11 points with five boards in 26 minutes.
Cornell went 12-16 last season, though they were 6-8 in the Ivy (fourth place overall). The Big Red have lost 38 straight games in this series, dating back to 1968. SU and Cornell have faced one another for the last five years, and 11 of the last 13. Syracuse leads the all-time series, 92-31.
This is the second consecutive week the Orange have added a non-conference opponent to the developing schedule. Last week, the Old Dominion Monarchs were added for December 15, also at the Dome.

So with ODU and Cornell added, here’s what we know in terms of Syracuse’s 2018-19 schedule:
- November 9: 2K Classic on-campus foe
- November 11: 2K Classic on-campus foe
- November 15: UConn/Oregon/Iowa (at MSG)
- November 16: UConn/Oregon/Iowa (at MSG)
- November 27ish: ACC/B1G Challenge
- December 1: Cornell Big Red
- Early December: Georgetown Hoyas
- December 15: Old Dominion Monarchs
When we last attempted to project Syracuse’s schedule, we tossed around some names like St. Bonaventure, Buffalo and Eastern Michigan (plus Colgate, obviously). With eight opponents or general dates set already, that leaves five opponents remaining. Like we said, one of those is probably Colgate. The rest is TBD.
