Officer Zack Mahoney will be trading in his orange and blue (and platinum) for blue and gold (and a mountie hat) as the former Syracuse Orange quarterback has signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL.
The team has signed Canadian quarterback Zack Mahoney and 12th overall selection, Rashaun Simonise.

Mahoney was a fan favorite on the Orange, working his way from walk-on to consistent contributor after injuries continued to hit the ‘Cuse starting quarterbacks. Playing 25 career games, Mahoney passed for 1,949 yards and 18 touchdowns. Mahoney is a Canadian citizen and had entered the CFL draft after his Syracuse Pro Day.
All I wanted for my birthday was an opportunity and I am so grateful that the @Wpg_BlueBombers have given me one. Excited for the next chapter. #ForTheW pic.twitter.com/W3h3qzFY4W

Mahoney will leave behind plenty of dad jokes and a record setting performance against Pitt, a game where he passed for 5 touchdowns and 440 yards, adding two scores on the ground to set a school record for total touchdowns in a game.
Congratulations Zack!
