Syracuse men’s lacrosse: Orange drop to No. 9 in both polls

A 1-1 record last week keeps them hanging around the top 10.

The Syracuse Orange men’s lacrosse team remains in the top 10 for both the USILA and Maverik media polls this week after going 1-1 over the past seven days. After an upset loss on the road to Cornell last Tuesday, Syracuse defeated the North Carolina Tar Heels 13-12 over the weekend.

SU’s comeback victory sealed a second straight undefeated season in the ACC, and at 7-4, they’ll have just one more regular season game before the ACC Tournament. The Orange host No. 16 Navy on Saturday, then start the conference tournament next Friday. They’ll close the season with a home game against Colgate on May 5.

Obviously Syracuse has had an up-and-down season so far, showing up for the big ACC contests but also faltering in other games. SU is 3-4 against currently ranked teams, but all three of those are conference victories.

The entire USILA top 20 right now, for those curious. The Maverik Poll is pretty similar, save UMass being in, rather than Lehigh.
