The latest Winter Sports updates have been completed in the Learfield Directors Cup and the Syracuse Orange find themselves in 36th place in the competition. The Orange were in 43rd place after the indoor track and field championships, but moved up after men’s and women’s basketball scores were added.
The run to the Sweet 16 gave the Orange 64 points from men’s basketball while women’s basketball earned 25 points from their NCAA appearance. These points pushed Syracuse’s total to 336.25. We’ll have to wait until June to see if Syracuse can accumulate additional points when men’s and women’s lacrosse, women’s rowing and tennis are completed.
If you’re surprised to see the last two sports mentioned as scoring possibilities, it’s time to pay more attention to them.
