The Syracuse Orange will be adding new football recruits throughout National Signing Day. And as each player signs, we’ll be posting profiles here on TNIAAM. Next up? Late commit Jarveon Howard, from Mississippi.
Twitterfeed: @jarveon_howard
Hometown: Columbia, Miss.
Previous School: East Marion
Position: Running back
Stats: 5’10”, 202 pounds
Ratings: Everyone said three stars, and I’m happy to believe them.
Other Offers: Tennessee, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Memphis and Tulane, among others. Beating both in-state SEC schools for a running back is a pretty nice accomplishment, I think.
Dino’s projected nickname: “War Machine,” alluding to Terrence Howard, the original War Machine in the Iron Man movies.
This next RB is coming up to the North from Walter Payton's hometown. I hope Cuse Nation likes their orange juice with extra Sweetness! pic.twitter.com/0TmR50Jucf

Highlights:
Player outlook: Howard could fill either running back role for the Orange — a speed runner or someone opening up some space between the tackles. All of that would depend on where he goes weight-wise, which is something the staff will probably decide.
Howard has upside, but he’ll likely have to wait a year to start progressing toward it. With four scholarship backs available for 2018, there isn’t much point in burning a redshirt. When Howard gets his shot in 2019, expect a pretty busy backfield. But one he has a chance to make a major impact in.
