As a New York Giants fan with a bunch of Boston-area friends, a matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots is among the worst possible Super Bowl outcomes. Much of the rest of the country is on board with the thinking, too. Despite differing levels of success, both fan bases are none too shy about touting their superiority. And really, the last thing I personally want to see is joy for either group.
But some of you (actually, a significant portion of you all) disagree with me there. And I won’t deter you from doing so. Just like you couldn’t convince me to stop rooting for the Giants, I can’t convince you to leave either of those fan bases. Plus, I’ll give you a pass because we’re all Syracuse Orange fans at the end of the day.
If you’re just watching the game on your own or (like me) rooting for neither team today, consider this your open thread for all things Super Bowl, or even Syracuse and non-Syracuse topics.
(and no matter what happens, just remember the Giants beat the Pats twice, and they’ve won more titles than the Eagles)
