Welcome to college football’s early signing period for the class of 2019! The Syracuse Orange will be adding new recruits from Wednesday to (maybe) Friday. As each player signs, we’ll be posting profiles here on TNIAAM. Next up? We go just outside of Philly for SU’s newest tight end, Luke Benson.

Dino’s projected nickname: He got interest from most schools in the Ivy league, but I think he goes by “Philly Special.”

Player outlook:

Benson sure looks like a prototypical ‘Cuse tight end. He’s got size with the ability to block and receive and move down the field. He’s versatile, starting as a defensive end and being solid there for his team as well. We’ve seen Dino yet to truly utilize the tight end position in a way he has previously, maybe that changes. That being said, the tight end position is light at the moment. Ravian Pierce is a senior, with a slew of options who saw some time this year but failed to leave a lasting impression.
