Early signing period: 2019 CB Garrett Williams signs with Syracuse

The corner should be very familiar with the Orange’s conference.

Welcome to college football’s early signing period for the class of 2019! The Syracuse Orange will be adding new recruits from Wednesday to (maybe) Friday. As each player signs, we’ll be posting profiles here on TNIAAM. Next up? Syracuse heads to North Carolina to save locals like Garrett Williams from Food Lion.

Player outlook:

Another defensive back, Williams will definitely have his work cut out for him to get playing time. The defensive back is a solid and strong tackler, which coupled with his smaller size as of now, could lead to a move to safety. (Take a look at the trees Dino has playing corner right now.) But it’s not like Williams is a slouch; His coach calls him the best high school corner he’s ever seen and Williams is a converted QB with plenty of athleticism. If that’s the kind of talent and skill Williams can showcase from the jump, he could get some special teams time early.
