Early signing period: 2019 CB Adrian Cole signs with Syracuse

Adrian Cole Bay-Bay!

Nick Monroe, Adrian Cole and Dino Babers

Welcome to college football’s early signing period for the class of 2019! The Syracuse Orange will be adding new recruits from Wednesday to (maybe) Friday. As each player signs, we’ll be posting profiles here on TNIAAM. Next up? Corner Adrian Cole makes the now-typical trip from Florida up to CNY.

Hometown: Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Previous School: Plantation

Position: Defensive back

Stats: 5’11”, 165 pounds

Commitment date: June 23, 2018

Ratings: Three stars from 247 and ESPN and two stars from Rivals

Other Offers: Some sort of familiar names like USF, Pitt, Kansas, Buffalo and Toledo.

Dino’s projected nickname: “If practice made perfect, I’m practice’s baby”

Player outlook:

Cole’s going to walk into a crowded defensive backfield when he arrives at Syracuse. This doesn’t mean he won’t see the field early in his career as we’ve seen injuries force other young DB’s into action right away. Cole’s a little smaller than the current Orange corners and with a 4.7 40 time he doesn’t project as a lockdown corner. Where he might fit in is playing a nickel or slot corner where he has to handle the inside receivers and cover while navigating the middle of the field.
