As you know by now, the Syracuse Orange are headed to the Camping World Bowl to face the West Virginia Mountaineers on December 28. The game’s in Orlando, and while a lot of you are going, there are plenty of us that can’t make it for one reason or another. Still, that doesn’t mean the rest of SU’s ticket allotment is going unused.
#CuseTixForKids is back for another round, and after a little over a day, we’ve already raised nearly half ($6,517 as of this writing) of our goal of $14,444 to send underprivileged Orlando-area kids to the game. We’re also get them shirts and food while there too.
Syracuse Athletics is also working with us this year, so the kids we send (fundraising goals allow for 130 or so right now) will be enjoying the game among the Orange faithful, rooting on Eric Dungey, watching Dino hopefully have a chance to run up the score on WVU and seeing if Andre Szmyt can set a new single-season field goal record...
If you’ve donated already, first of all: Thank you very much for your generosity around the holidays. We appreciate you, and these kids certainly will, too. If you haven’t donated, hopefully you’ll join us in this cool tradition we’ve started. For those that may not be able to spare the cash ($44 has been the donation for most), please do us a favor and at least post the link on your preferred social media channels just to help get the word out some more.
We’ll have another update tomorrow as we get closer to the vaunted $14,444 mark. But in the meantime, DONATE, tell all of your friends about #CuseTixForKids and let’s make the holidays special for some young people this year.
