The Syracuse Orange came away with a big road win against the number 16 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes this past Wednesday, and they’ll look to keep their two-game winning streak going with a win over the Cornell Big Red.
It’ll be a family reunion with Jimmy Boeheim coming to the Carrier Dome, but it’ll be all business for the Orange once the ball is tipped in the air. So, on to the most important part of the week: the TNIAAM predictions.

Cornell is 282nd in the country in 3-point shooting and 323rd in offensive rebounding. The Big Red only have one player who has proven to be a true shooting threat so far this season. It will be fun to see if the Orange can hold them beneath 50. Let’s get Antonio Balandi some minutes and shots, please!

Syracuse shot 11-24 from deep against the Buckeyes, but we all know that isn’t how the Orange are going to win games this year. However, it was nice to see the Orange get into a rhythm with the long ball, and hopefully it’ll turn into more motion on the offensive end. This is a great opportunity for Syracuse to stay hot on offense, so look for Tyus Battle and Oshae Brissett to start the game attacking the rim aggressively.

Syracuse is coming off its best performance of the season and looks like it could be putting things together. Look for the defense to take another step in the right direction — limiting Matt Morgan and Jimmy Boeheim will be key. Tyus Battle, Oshae Brissett and Elijah Hughes all score in double-figures and SU cruises to an easy home victory in the Boeheim family affair.

The Orange offense really clicked during the second half in Columbus and look for that to continue in the Dome. I’m sure Jim Boeheim would like to try out some different line-up combinations as Syracuse prepares for next week’s contests. Matt Morgan is Cornell’s go-to player and the guy the Syracuse zone must keep an eye on.

Syracuse is going for 39 in a row over Cornell in their regular non-conference matchup. This year the Big Red are 4-3. Despite their +3.0 average point differential, their offense struggles with a 40.9 shooting percentage, a 282nd-ranked three-point efficiency and they rarely go to the line (27 attempts per game). Making a dent in the Orange defense — that finally solidified itself holding the Buckeyes to 62 — will be nearly impossible and I’d be stunned if they crossed the OSU mark. The biggest question in this one is if those Buddy Boeheim shots finally begin to fall as his father predicted.

The Orange seemed to have started to hit their stride against Ohio State, hitting jumpers, finding a capable option from three (hi, Elijah Hughes) and playing much more capable defense with Frank Howard back in the lineup. Cornell shouldn’t disrupt that at all, and after a back-and-forth start, SU settles in and coasts to a win in the second half. Buddy Boeheim gets extended run against his brother Jimmy, and everyone talks about it ad nauseum.
