For those anxiously awaiting the game time/network for the Syracuse Orange’s matchup with the N.C. State Wolfpack, you’ll have to wait another six days. ESPN has exercised a hold on the game and will slot it in after Saturday’s action.
After byes for both squads last week, they’re back in action for week 8. State will visit Clemson in a battle of the last remaining ACC unbeatens, while the Orange host North Carolina. The hold probably has less to do with whether the Pack can upset Clemson, and is more dependent on SU getting the job done versus UNC.
Should Syracuse win, it could put the game firmly in primetime on national TV — or at least the afternoon (3:30/4 p.m.) slot. Had the Orange beaten Pitt (::gnashes teeth::), it would have probably been scheduled already for that time. And with minimal ranked-on-ranked action for that weekend right now, a College Gameday spot could’ve been a real possibility. Alas...
