Syracuse vs Boston College Official TNIAAM Predictions & Poll

Will the week off mean rest or rust?

NCAA Basketball: Boston College at Syracuse Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

After a long break the Syracuse Orange (13-6, 2-4) return to action against the Boston College Eagles (13-7, 3-4) in a pivotal ACC game. This is a game the Orange needs to win as they look to improve their position in the ACC and try to maintain a shot at a NCAA bid.

You can watch the game at 7:00 pm eastern on ESPNU.

What does the TNIAAM staff think will happen?

James Szuba

Syracuse 66 - Boston College 60

This game will be decided beyond 20 feet and 9 inches. Boston College shoots it well from beyond the arc with its three guards while Syracuse has mostly struggled to defend the three sans a few games. The Orange should be well rested today which will ultimately lead to a win, but expect BC to make things interesting.

Andrew Godnick

Syracuse is in need of starting a little winning streak of their own, and a strong second half in this one will make up for their slow first half. The lack of shooting will continue to be a problem, but a few clutch shots from Oshae Brissett late will be the difference in this one.

Bobby Manning

Syracuse 61 Boston College 60

The home-and-home with Boston College, NCAA tournament hopefuls alongside the Orange for the first time in years, could sway whether or not Syracuse gets in this year. BC is no joke, Ky Bowman and Jerome Robinson run the floor, shoot and can interchangeably handle the rock. The one saving grace for the Orange is that nobody on BC’s roster even approaches Marek Dolezaj in height, never mind Paschal Chukwu. Syracuse, at home, will likely trail early but work through shooting droughts they force and offensive rebounds they grab to stay competitive. It’s going to be extremely difficult for the 2-3 zone to grab hold of at team that scores more than 1/3 of its points off three-pointers, Tyus Battle and Frank Howard will have their hands full defensively, but I like Syracuse’s size in this matchup. It’ll be the best game these two have played in a long time.

Kevin Wall

Syracuse 67 Boston College 66

This is a scary game. BC does most of their damage from behind the 3-pt line, which is the weakness of the Orange zone. I do think the week of preparation helps Syracuse enough to sneak out a slim victory thanks to an advantage on the offensive glass.

Now it’s your turn....
