Syracuse men’s basketball adds walk-ons Patrick Herlihy, Dominick Parker

Orange roster additions aren’t done just yet!

NCAA Basketball: Syracuse at Pittsburgh Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team is not done making roster moves for the 2017-18 season, apparently. Jim Boeheim’s program will add two walk-ons for this year: Patrick Herlihy and Dominick Parker. News was first reported by Syracuse.com.

Herlihy, a senior, has been a manager with the program for the last three years, so he has more Final Four experience than most on the roster (/natch). Originally from West Virginia, Herlihy made the right decision to turn away from anything involving the Mountaineers and attend SU. He’s 6-foot-6, and would probably slot in as a small forward.

Dominick Parker is a freshman from Troy, standing at 6-foot-1 and 186 pounds — both on the smaller end, but he has some time to grow into a college basketball-ready frame.

Parker and Herlihy are not the only walk-ons for Syracuse this year, as you might have guessed. They’ll join Adrian Autry, Braedon Bayer, Shaun Belbey, Ray Featherston and Ky Feldman onthe Orange bench.

Congrats to both players, and hope to see you playing some late minutes this year.
