During Syracuse’s 35-26 loss to the LSU Tigers, Bennett collected 12 tackles (a career-high three for loss), a safety, a pass break-up and a QB hurry. The Orange didn’t keep LSU under 100 yards as a team, but prevented any one individual Tiger player from hitting the 100-yard plateau. The team had 151 yards on the game.
On the season, Bennett has 29 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss. He’s been a key part of a renewed pass rush for Syracuse, and SU has been getting more of a push up front than they have the last few seasons.
Congrats to Bennett for taking home the honor. Syracuse’s linebackers have played extremely well this year, and this is the latest proof point on that.
