Syracuse University Alumni Association hosting Orange fans in New Orleans

We’re less than two weeks out from what should be a fun trip for those in attendance.

We’re not skipping ahead of this weekend’s game against Central Michigan, but the Syracuse Orange will be heading down to Louisiana to face the LSU Tigers very shortly. The game’s in Baton Rouge, but with many fans staying in New Orleans, that city will serve as home base all weekend.

From 7-9 p.m. CT on Friday, September 22, the Syracuse University Alumni Association will be gathering at The Swamp on Bourbon Street at an event for alums and visiting fans alike. Otto will be there, as will the Orange cheer team -- so really, between that and the likely humidity, it’ll be just like you’re at the Carrier Dome.

If you’re just looking to pop in for food and drinks (and some Orange schwag), that’s all free. But another option is The Swamp’s three-hour balcony reception. For $75, you’ll get unlimited premium open bar, Cajun buffeet and dessert. To RSVP to the Friday night balcony reception, you can head here.

The Swamp’s address, for those that want everything in one place: 516 Bourbon Street, New Orleans, La. If you have additional questions, you can also contact Pauline Saraceni, assistant director for alumni clubs. Her email is psaracen@syr.edu, or you can call at 315-443-3685.

I won’t be at the Friday night event, since I’ll already be up in Baton Rouge by then — but I’ll be in New Orleans from Wednesday afternoon through Friday around lunch. If you’d like to hang out there or up in Baton Rouge before or during the game, email me or contact me via Twitter. Would love to try and do some sort of TNIAAM hangout either in Baton Rouge on Friday or pre-game, or before that in New Orleans if we can. (more on that front next week)
