Syracuse loses all four Coaches Poll votes, has five opponents in top 15

Maybe next week...

The week three college football rankings are out, and after a brutal loss to Middle Tennessee, the Syracuse Orange lost all four of their coaches poll votes. That should give credence to thoughts that Blue Raiders coach Rick Stockstill may have logged votes for the Orange in advance...

Also, here’s how Syracuse’s 2017 opponents did in this week’s rankings:

(AP/Coaches)

No. 3/No. 2 Clemson Tigers

After squeaking out a 14-6 victory over the Auburn Tigers (No. 15/No. 17), Clemson jumped up one spot in the Coaches Poll. They racked up 11 sacks, one short of the school record. Not looking fun for the struggling Syracuse offensive line.

No. 11/No. 10 Florida State Seminoles

FSU went down a spot in both polls, even though their second game was postponed for Hurricane Irma.

No. 12/No. 11 LSU Tigers

Up one in the Coaches Poll but nothing new in the AP. LSU did their job against the Chattanooga Mocs and stomped them 45-10.

No. 14/No. 14 Louisville Cardinals

Up and up, the Cards hopped over Miami with a 47-35 win over UNC.

No. 17/No. 15 Miami Hurricanes

The ‘Canes were canceled due to the Hurricane, and won’t be rescheduling their game against Arkansas State.

This was already daunting, and continues to get more so as each opponent climbs in the polls.
