The Syracuse Orange men’s soccer team started off the season in eighth in the United Soccer Coaches Poll, and remain there this week after gathering two wins last week at St. Louis and SIU Edwardsville, respectively. Underscoring the overall strength of the ACC this year (like always), there are a total of eight squads from the conference ranked this week.

Fortunately or unfortunately, Syracuse will face most of those teams this season, along with the Akron Zips (No. 24 this week). First up on the long list of ranked foes is a road game at No. 12 Virginia on Friday, September 8.
The rest of the ranked portion of the schedule lays out as follows:
September 15: No. 11 Louisville Cardinals
October 3: No. 24 Akron Zips
October 13: at No. 22 Boston College Eagles
October 21: No. 5 Clemson Tigers
October 27: at No. 2 Wake Forest Demon Deacons
SU avoids both No. 3 North Carolina and No. 9 Notre Dame. There’s also a chance another ranked opponent joins the list within the next week or two, as Duke was the first team on the outside of the most recent poll. Syracuse faces the Blue Devils On September 22.
The Orange’s next game is against Princeton this Friday at 3 p.m. at SU Soccer Stadium. For those that would like to get onto campus early before Syracuse’s football game at 7 p.m., here’s one activity you could certainly entertain.
