Get to know your Orange man: #49, TE Jesse Conners

New, 1 comment

Conners returns to New York State to play for the Orange.

NCAA Football: Louisville at Syracuse Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Name: Jesse Conners

Position: Tight end

Year: (Redshirt) Freshman

Height: 6’2”

Weight: 222 lbs.

Hometown: Pittsford, N.Y.

High School: Salisbury School (Conn.)

2016 stats: Conners redshirted at Holy Cross last season, so no stats for him.

2017 projections: Despite redshirting last year, he’ll need to redshirt again per NCAA rules. You can transfer down to FCS and play right away. But you can’t transfer up without sitting (unless you’re a grad transfer).

How’d he get here?: Conners decided to walk on at Syracuse vs. continuing at Holy Cross. So he joined this offseason so he could get acclimated during spring. Former Syracuse Orange running backs coach Mike Hart was the one to help close the deal.

What did recruiting sites say?: Nada

Twitter feed: @jesse_conners

Tweets of wonder: Here’s Jesse putting in some work during spring practice.

What movie would Dino Babers recommend for him?: Terminator: The Sarah Connors Chronicles. It’s not a movie, but a TV show based on a movie, so that’s fine.

Interesting nugget of interest: His brother Jared plays lacrosse at Virginia. Which is a bummer for him given how things have gone over there lately...

Let’s get a good look at you: Here’s some tape on Conners from his senior year of high school.
