Name: Anthony Lombardi
Position: Defensive Back
Year: (Redshirt) Freshman
Height: 6’3"
Weight: 211 lbs.
Hometown: Stamford, Conn.
High School: Trinity College
2016 stats: He walked on to the Syracuse Orange and was redshirted as a freshman.
2017 projections: Lombardi is a great athlete but still a bit young. He will likely spend the season watching and learning. The defensive back core has struggled and has a lot to prove, but they have enough upperclassmen to fill the roles this year. His athleticism can definetly be of value on special teams this season.
How’d he get here?: He doesn’t have any recruiting history. If he was talking to coaches, it was unknown by pretty much everyone.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Again he was completely off the map, no ratings anywhere.
Twitter feed: @antlombardi12
Tweets of wonder: Born in the Bronx and supports the pinstripes. He also retweets us sometimes! So fingers crossed on this one.
What a game Yankees!!!

What movie would Dino Babers recommend for him?: Not a bad last name to have. The documentary Lombardi takes the audience through the life of one of the most legendary figures in sports. Vince Lombardi’s two straight superbowls with the Green Bay Packers are highlighted in the film.
Interesting nugget o’interest: He played quarterback at Trinity College in high school. In his two years there he threw for 3,165 yards 40 touchdowns. He rushed for 832 yards and seven touchdowns. So yes, he’s just an outstanding athlete that wanted to play some college ball.
