After winning its third game in TBT on Thursday night, Boeheim’s Army reconvened at the same LIU Brooklyn gym to take on Team FOE for a spot in the Final Four. The former Syracuse Orange players found themselves in a fight early but eventually came from behind to win 72-67.
Eric Devendorf scored 8 of the team’s first 9 point to keep the ship afloat, but shot making proved to be difficult throughout the first half evidenced by 8-of-30 from the floor. Defensively, the Army struggled to rebound out of the zone, so the team switched to man at the under four minute mark of the first half. Regardless, the Syracuse guys struggled on both ends and as a result Team FOE took a 40-24 lead into the break.
In the second half the guys continued to struggle until James Southerland was able to get loose for a triple followed by a floater that cut the lead to 15. The guys continued to chip away, eventually getting to within 11 at the under 8 minute mark.

But the run didn’t stop there. After the timeout FOE quickly scored, but Southerland responded with a three on the other end to keep the run going. Brandon Triche later scored on back-to-back layups, edging the lead to 59-55 at the 5:35 mark.
Southerland continued his hot shooting as he’d go on to knock down two more triples and a floater to cut the lead to one. On the ensuing possession, Devendorf drove left and finished a tough lay-in through contact to give Boeheim’s Army a one point lead with under 1:30 to play.
On the next possession, Triche drove and finished through contact and completed a three-point play to give the Army a four point buffer. Team FOE wasn’t able to regain the lead and Eric Devendorf finished things off with two free throws.
Boeheim’s Army advances to TBT’s Final Four. Meaning, Trevor Cooney is now the first Syracuse player to play in three Final Fours.
