Name: Christopher Fredrick
Position: Cornerback
Year: (Redshirt) Sophomore
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 193 lbs.
Hometown: Conley, Ga.
High School: Cedar Grove High School
2016 stats: Started six games at cornerback for the Syracuse Orange, while playing in all 12. He had 22 tackles total, plus two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and an interception.
2017 projections: Now that he has a year under his belt in the system and could be starting at corner from the opener, Fredrick could be in for a big year if he continues to the trajectory he showed as last season wore on. Expect 30-40 tackles, a couple picks and hey, maybe another forced fumble or two. Chris showed himself to be a capable coverage man in spots, so hopefully that continues to shine through.
How did he get here?: Syracuse offered him, and he was on board shortly thereafter. We beat out Cincinnati, Mississippi State and Minnesota for his services.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Three stars. Cool.

Tweets of wonder: Captured that moment pretty well, Chris.
Syracuse DB Chris Fredrick on upsetting No. 17 VT: "That's like the moment you live for. I've never been a part of anything like that."

What movie would Dino Babers recommenced for him?: The Boy Who Could Fly, with Fred Savage AND Fred Gwynne. In 1986, an autistic boy dreams of flying and affects everyone he meets. Never saw it, but the two Freds thing works.
Interesting nugget o’interest: Christopher was a three-sport athlete in high school. Along with football, he also ran track and played hoops.
