Name: Sterling Hofrichter
Year: (Redshirt) Sophomore
Weight: 196 lbs.
Hometown: Valrico, Fla.
High School: Armwood High School
2016 stats: In his first season replacing demi-god Riley Dixon, Hof averaged 42.7 yards per punt on 77 punts. Outside of a couple hiccups here and there, he was about as steady as they come (especially for someone that wasn’t really a punter before). He made third-team All-ACC as well.
2017 projections: Hofrichter may be the best punter in the ACC already, and should improve on the already strong numbers he was able to post as a redshirt freshman. Also, if Cole Murphy can’t get the job done at kicker, he may take over that position too.
How did he get here?: The Syracuse Orange were the only team to offer, somehow.
What’d recruiting sites say?: He was seen as a three-star prospect by most services, and was one of the top 10 kickers AND punters in the country.

Ray Guy Award watch list was released today. Sterling Hofrichter's been snubbed!— NunesMagician.com (@NunesMagician) July 12, 2017
What Movie would Dino Babers recommend for him? While Hoftichter isn’t THE Hoff, he’s a Hof. So Babers might recommend he watch this summer’s Baywatch film. David Hasselhoff’s in that, albeit as a minor character.
Interesting nugget o’interest: Both of his siblings are athletes as well. His sister swam at the University of North Florida, while his brother swam for University of Tampa.
Let’s get a look atcha: It’s impossible to replace Riley Dixon, but Sterling talks about how he’ll try to.
