Get to know your Orange Man: #35, DB Kyle Strickland

The defensive back redshirted last season but could play a reserve role for this upcoming year

NCAA Football: Louisville at Syracuse Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Name: Kyle Strickland

Position: Defensive back

Year: (Redshirt) freshman

Height: 6’0”

Weight: 176 lbs.

Hometown: Roswell, Ga.

High School: Roswell High School

2016 stats: He redshirted last season so he did not enter in any games, but he did receive accommodation from the Syracuse Athletic Director’s honor roll.

2017 projections: He may play a special teams role, but do not expect to see him much in the defensive secondary.

How did he get here?: He entered as a walk-on in 2016 after not receiving any division 1 offers.

What’d recruiting sites say?: Nothing at all.

Twitter feed: He does not have a Twitter. Odd.

Tweets of wonder: There is only one tweet ever about Strickland.

What Movie would Dino Babers recommend for him? The 2016 drama, Manchester by the Sea, starring Kyle Chandler (a native of New York). Never saw it, but I heard it’s good, so there’s that.

Interesting nugget o’interest: His cousin is retired NBA starter Rod Strickland. I guess athleticism runs in the family.

Let’s get a look atcha: There’s no video of Strickland on the internet, but here is a throwback to his cousin’s insane handles.
