Name: Tim Walton
Position: Linebacker
Year: (Redshirt) Freshman
Height: 6’2
Weight: 224
Hometown: Detroit
High School: Cass Tech High School
2016 stats: He redshirted so he did not play a game, though, he was selected to the ACC honor roll.
2017 projections: Walton looks to be a reserve this year, though he may contribute on special teams or if there is an injury. He’s expected to switch from linebacker to defensive end at some point, so he may spend most of this season putting on more muscle.
How’d he get here?: He originally committed to Illinois, but he flipped to Syracuse a few weeks before National Signing Day. Walton also received offers from Cincinnati, as well as a whole bunch of MAC teams.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Everyone labeled him as a three-star recruit.

Tweets of wonder: Right around the time when the NCAA was taking aim at satellite camps and banning them, Walton was calling out the NCAA. Tim talks about how he and countless others were beneficiaries of satellite camps, which were later reinstated.

What movie would Dino Babers recommend for him?: The 1994 American thriller, Shawshank Redemption, starring Tim Robbins. The book was better in my opinion, but the movie is still quality.
Interesting nugget o’interest: His father actually played in the NFL for the Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles.
Let’s get a good look atcha: Here is an interview with Walton, talking about his commitment to the Syracuse Orange.
