Name: Aaron Roberts
Position: Offensive Guard
Year: (Redshirt) Junior
Height: 6’4”
Weight: 289 lbs.
Hometown: Chicago
High School: De La Salle Institute
2016 stats: Roberts started all 12 games at guard last year, racking up 968 snaps (the Syracuse Orange ran 971 plays on the season) and 39 knockdown blocks. He also had five games with four or more knockdown blocks (nice work!). Roberts was a big part of the team’s offensive production last year, keeping the middle as clear as he could.
2017 projections: He’s back as a starter and will be a key player in any sort of offensive line improvement we see this year. Roberts definitely helped clear a space in the middle, but not enough to help a struggling running game (115th in the FBS). His experience will help fix things this year... hopefully.
How’d he get here?: Roberts picked Syracuse over offers from Illinois, Ball State and New Mexico.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Three stars from most, but just two stars from Scout.

Tweets of Wonder: Aaron once got 17 recruiting letters from Syracuse in one day.
Surprised kids that age still read snail mail at all. SU recruit Aaron Roberts receives 17 letters in 1 day from SU http://t.co/G7VoIATNCu

What Movie would Dino Babers recommend for him?: What about Bob Roberts? The 1992 dramedy starred Tim Robbins as a right-wing folk singer-turned-politician whose crooked campaign is being investigated by an independent journalist. Never saw it, but sounds interesting.
Interesting Nugget O’Interest: Roberts didn’t start playing football until freshman year of high school. And he quickly turned into a quality blocker.
Let's Get A Good Look Atcha: Linebacker Zaire Franklin interviews Roberts a bit last year.
