Elijah Hughes, a 6-foot-6 wing from Beacon, N.Y., will visit Syracuse beginning on Wednesday, May 10, a source confirmed to TNIAAM.
The news was first reported by Mike McAllister of CuseNation.com.
An initial report from Adam Zagoria was that Hughes would visit Syracuse on May 16-18, but that’s not the case anymore. Hughes will be on campus through Thursday, the source said, which confirmed McAllister’s report.
Hughes was rated as a three-star prospect out of high school by the 247Sports Composite rankings. He had offers from East Carolina, Albany, Fairfield, Hofstra, Iona, Marist and Siena. He also had interest from Georgia Tech, NC State, Oklahoma, Seton Hall and Temple, among others.
Hughes scored 7.8 points per game, to go with 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists last season. He’ll be forced to sit out a year due to NCAA transfer rules. Once he becomes eligible, he’ll have three years of eligibility remaining.
Syracuse has three open scholarships for next season. Check out some of Hughes’s highlights below.
