TNIAAM NCAA Tournament Challenge: North Carolina delivers a champion

The North Carolina Tar Heels’ win over Gonzaga closed the book on the 2016-17 college basketball season. It also closed the book on this year’s TNIAAM NCAA Tournament pool -- arguably the worst collective performance we’ve ever put together as a group.

Speaking for myself, “as a closet UNC fan,” I always pick a top-seeded Tar Heels team to make the Final Four or even win it all. I failed to this year, and as punishment, I finished with the worst bracket I’ve ever filled out.

Thankfully, football season starts soon enough for me. So I can pretend to know things once again.

But for those of you that actually know anything about basketball, you had a team or two in the Final Four. Gonzaga and UNC were reasonable selections this year. Those who went that route were rewarded accordingly.

There could be only one winner, though, in the TNIAAM Jokes & Garbage Brack-tacular. And that winner was Derrick.

Derrick collected 43 correct picks and 137 total points to top the group. Some others picked more games right, but it’s all about when you choose to do that -- hence the win for him after picking the Heels to win it all.
