The Syracuse Orange football team held their second scrimmage on Saturday, running 105 plays at the Carrier Dome. With just a few spring practices left, it was the team’s last opportunity to simulate anything resembling a game until Saturday’s public spring game.
Jamal Custis was one of Saturday’s standout performers, scoring three touchdowns of 35-40 yards (two from Eric Dungey and one from Zack Mahoney). Dungey also tossed additional scores to Ravian Pierce and Steve Ishmael, giving him four TD passes on the day.
Moe Neal and Tyrone Perkins each scored a rushing touchdown, while Cole Murphy added a field goal — which means a total of 52 points for SU (assuming the touchdowns all came with extra points).
Over on defense, McKinley Williams, Adam Dulka and Jake Pickard all recorded sacks, and Pickard’s was a safety. Andrew Armstrong and Rodney Williams also nabbed interceptions.

All of those names and more will be on display this coming Saturday, April 22, at the Spring Showcase (spring game).
The program has also determined the format for the game, which will include four 12-minute quarters of running clock (aside from the last two minutes of each half). While there will be no score, you can still expect plenty of fireworks when the first-team offense takes on the second-team defense — and probably the same going the other way when the first-team defense gets a crack at the second-team offense.
Everything starts at 10 a.m. ET at the Carrier Dome. For those not in attendance, the spring game will also be aired on ACC Network Extra.
