WNBA Draft 2017: Syracuse watch thread, draft order & streaming info

The Orange could double their previous draft total (three) in one evening.

The Syracuse Orange women’s basketball program spent the last four years at a level of success previously beyond their reach, largely on the backs of a group of excellent seniors.

Tonight, three of those players — Alexis Peterson, Brittney Sykes and Brianna Day — find out where they’ll be continuing their basketball-playing careers.

This year’s WNBA Draft starts at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2 for the first round, then moves over to ESPNU for the final two rounds of the event. You can also live-stream the whole thing on WatchESPN if that’s more convenient for you.

As we mentioned in Tuesday’s preview, Peterson is a very likely first round pick, while Sykes should probably go early second. Day may get picked, but a lot of that will depend on which team needs rebounding help toward the latter half of the third round.

Only three Orange players have ever been selected in the WNBA Draft. Kayla Alexander was drafted by the San Antonio Stars four years ago and still plays in the league. Brianna Butler (2016) and Beth Record (2001) have also been drafted, but neither ever suited up for a regular season game.
