Andrew White, Tyler Lydon honored in ACC postseason awards

Both well deserved.

On Sunday, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced its season award winners and all-league basketball team.

North Carolina junior Justin Jackson won ACC Player of the Year after earning 24 votes by the head coaches and selected media. Wake Forest’s John Collins finished second with 15 votes, according to the release.

North Carolina State’s Dennis Smith Jr. was named ACC Freshman of the Year. He averaged 18.5 points, 6.3 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game for the Wolfpack.

As for the Orange, Andrew White was named to the third-team All-ACC team. He led Syracuse with 17.9 points per game, and has made 101 3-pointers, which ranked fifth all-time in Syracuse history. Those numbers were boosted with a 40-point performance in the season finale victory over Georgia Tech on Saturday. White went 8-of-9 from 3-point range.

Sophomore Tyler Lydon, who averaged 13.4 points and 8.3 rebounds per game was named an Honorable Mention.
