After the win over Georgia Tech on Saturday, the Syracuse Orange clinched the No. 8 seed in the upcoming ACC Tournament that begins on Tuesday.
With the victory, SU clinched a first-round bye and will play the No. 9 seed Miami Hurricanes on Wednesday at noon ET at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Syracuse and Miami both finished conference play with a 10-8 record, but the Orange won the head-to-head matchup back on January 4, 70-55.
Andrew White III scored a game-high 22 points on that Saturday afternoon to lead all scorers, while Tyler Lydon added 20 of his own.
The Hurricanes had just one player reach double-figures that day, as freshman Dejan Vasiljevic scored 18 points in the loss.
Miami ended the season with two straight losses to Virginia Tech and No. 15 Florida State. The U was featured in this week’s rankings (at No. 25 in both polls), but that won’t hold come Monday.
Syracuse is 17-7 all-time vs. Miami, though they’re just 3-2 vs. Jim Larranaga’s team since the Orange joined the ACC. The Orange are 0-2 in the ACC Tournament so far, falling to NC State in 2014 and Pittsburgh in 2016.
