Syracuse Orange football coach Dino Babers drops hints all the time that he needs more resources and staffers. Today, we got the latest clue that his pleas are being heard.

SU athletics announced that they’d hired Dave Boller as the Orange’s new director of player personnel. Boller comes to Syracuse from Louisville, where he served as director of high school relations on the recruiting staff for two years.

In the Orange release, it says Boller will work directly with Asil Mulbah, the program’s director of recruiting operations.

Boller is a scouting veteran, having worked for the New York Jets, Detroit Lions, St. Louis Rams, Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers before heading to Louisville. He was also Arizona State’s director of football operations from 1984-95. Boller and Babers worked together previously at ASU, where they were both part of the larger Sun Devils’ staff (Babers was a grad assistant in 1985).

The hire continues to build out the Syracuse support staff and a bit of an ASU connection for the Orange. Brad and Roy Wittke have also spent time with the Sun Devils.

Welcome aboard, Dave! Looking forward to seeing how his addition (and extensive experience) impacts recruiting.
