Basketball hall-of-famer Rick Barry is working with New York Life just like we are this week, so we had a chance to catch up with the former Miami Hurricanes star tonight.
While the ‘Canes weren’t in the ACC when Barry played, he’s still well tuned into what’s happening here in Brooklyn this week, and was obviously pretty thrilled to see Miami grab the win over our Syracuse Orange on Wednesday.
We got to chat for a bit about Syracuse’s NCAA Tournament chances and some other topics at the #BGAL Live studio at Barclays Center. A rundown of some of the bigger topics:
- Miami’s improvement under Jim Larranaga
- Rick hates zones, but he does explain why
- Breaking down why Carmelo Anthony’s game is still special
- How to beat Syracuse’s zone (it starts with moving the ball inside)
- Duke, Notre Dame and what might happen tonight
Full video below. I’m sure you have comments about his 2-3 zone critiques.
