After a few weeks parked at No. 24, SU moves up a few spots.

Following win No. 4 in a row on Sunday, the Syracuse Orange women’s basketball team moved up to 20th in the AP Poll on Monday. SU had spent a few weeks at 24th alternating some wins and losses, but the current streak finally helped them progress up the rankings.

Syracuse is coming off of two wins of 20 or more, vs. Pittsburgh and Boston College, respectively. But the schedule gets tougher from here. The Orange visit 14th-ranked Duke on Friday, February 10. They also host No. 7 Notre Dame on February 19 before the ACC slate wraps up.

Though SU started the season a little hot and cold, they’ve seemingly hit a groove in 2017. They’re 8-2 since the calendar flipped, helping them get to 17-7 overall and 8-3 in the ACC (two games back of first place).

While the games against ranked opponents would’ve potentially intimidated Syracuse earlier in the year (they lost three of their first four to ranked teams), they’ve since won three of four in those situations. SU is 2-4 against teams in the current top 25.

As mentioned, the Orange are back in action this Friday against Duke. A win would have this program sky-rocketing as they enter the regular season’s final few weeks.
