On Sunday, the Syracuse Orange women’s basketball team notched its second consecutive win to end the 2016-17 regular season. SU beat the Pittsburgh Panthers 73-57 on the road to pick up win No. 20 on the season.

Things sputtered in the early goings for the Orange, as they found themselves down 16-15 in the first period -- before a nine-point run to end the quarter left them up 24-16. They’d sit around that lead for the next two periods before pulling away for good with a 17=8 fourth.

Alexis Peterson finished her regular season career with 25 points on 7-for-19 shooting (and 10-of-14 from the free throw line). Brittney Sykes and Briana Day also hit double figures for Syracuse in the game, scoring 21 and 13 points, respectively.

It was the seventh consecutive game where all three seniors scored 10 or more. Day also added 12 rebounds for her sixth double-double in the past eight games.

The Orange finish the regular season at 20-9 overall and 11-5 in ACC play -- sixth in the conference. While things didn’t always go well against top-ranked teams, SU still won seven of its final nine games and does appear to have some momentum heading into the postseason.

Syracuse’s next game will be in the second round of the ACC Tournament on Thursday, March 2.
