Syracuse is coming off of an emotional win over No. 10 Duke on Wednesday, 78-75, while the Cardinals lost on Wednesday evening to No. 8 North Carolina, 74-63. Louisville has won three of its last four games, and 10 of its last 13. The Cardinals are 14-1 at home this season.
Louisville 63, Syracuse 61
As we saw in the Dome, the Orange match up relatively well with the Cardinals. The biggest problem is rebounding and I think it's enough of an issue to give Mr. Richard Pitino Sr's team (is that classy enough for you?) the close victory. Getting Andrew White going early should be the focus on Saturday. If the Orange can get hot from 3, they can grab the upset and a good enough win to pretty much guarantee a NCAA at-large bid. The biggest hole on the Syracuse resume right now is a quality road win and this would certainly check that box.
Louisville 61, Syracuse 49
The Orange played the Cardinals tough in their first get together, but this game on the road is to tough for Syracuse to pull out after a season changing win against Duke. The Orange are going to look sloppy throughout as the comeback kids fail to get this one done.
Syracuse 74, Louisville 73
This is another game that means a lot more to Syracuse than Louisville, but again — the Cardinals won’t have any trouble getting up for this game. I don’t know who benefits more from a Sunday afternoon game, but the Orange may be in a situation of win-and-you’re-in. I think Andrew White bounces back from a bad first game against the Cards, and SU can get it done on the road.
Louisville 71, Syracuse 64
Syracuse is coming off an emotional victory Wednesday night and now heads on the road the take on a top three team in the conference. I expect Lydon and White to play better, but it won't be enough to edge the Cards. Louisville wins by three possessions.
Louisville 75, Syracuse 66
Syracuse nearly upset Louisville at home less than two weeks ago, but as we have seen from this Orange team all season long, playing at home and playing on the road are two completely different animals. I don't expect another 2-14 3-point shooting performance from Andrew White III, but I also don't expect a game-winning bank shot from John Gillon to save Syracuse here. Expect a disappointing loss, but one that will ultimately not have a major impact on Syracuse's NCAA Tournament hopes due to the high caliber of its opponent.
What about you?
