Syracuse football will hold its annual spring scrimmage Saturday, April 22 at 10 a.m. ET, SU Athletics announced Friday morning, releasing the team’s full spring practice schedule.
The showcase marks the end of Syracuse’s spring practice season and will also include a youth clinic and an autograph session.
Entering his second season at the helm, Syracuse coach Dino Babers will open practice on March 21, nearly a month later than SU has in recent years. This year’s spring game will also be held 20 days later than last season’s, which was held on April 2.
While Syracuse is set to return 19 of 22 starters from last year’s squad, the Orange will head into spring season with a lack of depth, as SU only has 60 scholarship players currently on campus, according to Syracuse.com.
However, with such a low number of scholarship players in fold, that opens the door for players who were previously buried on the depth chart last season to potentially showcase their ability and work their way into the rotation.
