Early signing period: OT Willem Froumy signs with Syracuse

The New Hampshire native is officially Orange!

The Syracuse Orange will be adding new football recruits throughout the early signing period, this Wednesday through Friday. As each player signs, we’ll be posting profiles here on TNIAAM. Next up? Willem Froumy, who hails from New Hampshire.

twitterfeed: @Wfroumy

Hometown: Exeter N.H.

High School: Exeter

Stats: 6’6”, 290 lbs.

Commitment date: June 20, 2017

Position: Offensive tackle

Ratings: Three stars from ESPN and 247, but just two stars from Rivals.

Other Offers: UMass was the only other school to offer Froumy -- or at least that’s what the record shows.

Dino’s projected nickname: “Dafoe.”

Update- Someone caught the original error calling NH the Smallest state. Still should have gone with a Granite reference here

Player Breakdown: A tall and somewhat light lineman (under 300 lbs. but 6-6), he is the epitome of what Dino Babers looks for in a tackle; tall and athletic. He is large enough to create holes, but not too heavy to where he can’t keep up with the Orange’s tempo. It is a bit concerning that not too many other division 1 schools offered him, but BAbers has had success with these under-the-radar type players before. He might not be a starter his first year, but Froumy is one to watch for the future.
