The Syracuse Orange will be adding new football recruits throughout the early signing period, this Wednesday through Friday. As each player signs, we’ll be posting profiles here on TNIAAM. Next up? Garden state wide receiver addition Taj Harris.
Hometown: Palmyra, N.J.
High School: Palmyra
Stats: 6’2” and 175 lbs.
Commitment date: June 24, 2017
Ratings: Three stars, said everyone.
Other offers: After considering Rutgers his favorite for a good amount of time, Harris committed to Syracuse in the summer before his senior year. He also received offers from Maryland, Temple, and N.C. State. (along with some others as well).
Dino’s projected nickname: “The Taj Ma-Harris”
Update- Adam nailed this one.
You might be calling the Dome, the TAJ Mahal when this Jersey Boy’s career in Orange is over @jadinzaki #BEL18VE pic.twitter.com/7J28OEbuZV— Dino Babers (@CoachBabersCuse) December 20, 2017
Player Breakdown: Standing around 6-2 and175 lbs., he would most likely play as an inside receiver in Dino Babers’s offense. He ran a 4.52 40 yard dash so he is not likely a deep threat. He is a solid route runner and gets out of his break form the line of scrimmage well. With no breakaway speed, he is more likely a physical receiver. He also averaged 25 points for his high school basketball team, so he is a possible two-sport athlete.
