The Syracuse Orange made it six out of six on Saturday as they concluded their stay in Washington, D.C. with a 74-62 win over George Washington. The Orange are declared winners of the Paradise Jam Reef Division and continue their sizzling start to the 2017 season.
Syracuse never trailed in Saturday’s game. The Orange shot 44% from the field and made 11-of-27 three-point attempts. Four Orange players scored in double figures. Gabby Cooper led the way with 15 points and Miranda Drummond added 14 in a team-high 31 minutes. Cooper also drained four of seven three-pointers.
Isis Young contributed 12 points off the bench. In addition, Tiana Mangakahia recorded her fifth double-double in six games, notching 10+ assists in every game. The Orange point guard finished Saturday’s game with 11 points and 10 assists in 23 minutes.
What’s Next
Syracuse will return to the Carrier Dome on Thursday to square off against Northwestern (4-1) as a part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. This is the first of four consecutive home games for the Orange. Tip versus Northwestern is at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday November 30.
