The Syracuse Orange advance to a perfect 3-0 after defeating the Hartford Hawks, 75-63, on Monday at the Carrier Dome. The Orange were headlined by point guard Tiana Mangakahia’s second straight double-double, and her third game in a row of compiling 10 assists.
Mangakahia finished with 17 points and 10 assists in 35 minutes, and Isis Young tabbed 12 points on 4-8 shooting in 19 minutes off of Syracuse’s bench. Gabby Cooper added 15 points in a team-high 37 minutes played. The Orange out-rebounded the Hawks, 51-32.
Miranda Drummond also recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds in 32 minutes. It was her first double-double of the season.
What’s Next
Syracuse will head to Washington, D.C. to play in the relocated 2017 Paradise Jam. They will suit up on Thanksgiving Day against Wisconsin. Tip-off is scheduled for 11 a.m.
