The ACC has announced kickoff times and networks for week eight, and the Syracuse Orange will be on national TV once again. When SU goes on the road to face the Miami Hurricanes, it’ll be at 3:30 p.m. ET on either ABC, ESPN or ESPN2. The league will determine which network once this weekend’s games conclude.
After a rough start to the season in terms of being televised, this is now the fourth straight game on TV -- and second straight to get national broadcast. I, for one, am pretty happy about the development, since it makes rewatching the games significantly easier.
Syracuse is 7-15 all-time vs. Miami, though they’ve lost five straight against the Hurricanes. The teams last faced off in 2003 -- a 17-10 victory for the ‘Canes. Despite the fact that the U and the Orange have been in the same league for five years now, this is the first time they’ll face off. And won’t do so again for another six years. We’ll face Central Michigan more times in a 10 year stretch than we do Miami. #goacc
No matter what happens to SU this weekend, we’ll be facing a formidable opponent in Miami on October 21. The Hurricanes are 4-0 and just beat FSU for the first time since 2009. They host Georgia Tech this Saturday, though without the services of top running back Mark Walton, who’s now out for the season.
Here are some SU/Miami highlights to get you excited about facing this program again:
