The Syracuse Orange announced this weekend’s uniform choice vs. the Pittsburgh Panthers, and to little surprise, they’ll be wearing all-orange.

On top of it being Orange Central homecoming weekend, Syracuse had previously declared this game an #OrangeOut anyway, so a jersey combination other than this one would’ve made no sense whatsoever. SU has also been selling #OrangeOut shirts, and there are homecoming shirts too. So, a lot of shirts to help you wear orange along with the team.
Because this blog prides itself on keeping meaningless statistics on uniforms, Syracuse is 2-2 in the all-orange uniforms so far -- the wins coming in 2015 vs. Wake Forest and Boston College, while the losses were against USF (2015) and Louisville (2016).
The Orange are 7-18 when wearing orange helmets, 4-4 with orange jerseys, and 6-10 with orange pants. SU’s orange jerseys are the only current uniform element with a .500 or better record. This is the third time they’ve worn them this year already — beating CMU with orange jerseys, but losing to LSU.
Any other thoughts? Again, no surprise we’re wearing all-orange, and it’s nice to see us embrace the color we’re named after at least once a season.
