After a big week against the Fightin’ Byes, the Syracuse Orange are rested and ready to go for their game at the Florida State Seminoles.
SU will head to Tallahassee to take on a team that was supposed to be one of the best in the country. They are now 2-5 (2-4 in the ACC) following consecutive losses to Boston College and Louisville.
The ACC is getting weird and Vegas knows that, so they also know anything could happen on Saturday and favored the ‘Noles by 2.5-points. Makes sense given the game is at FSU. That virtually makes the teams even on a neutral field -- or even provide a half-point or one-point advantage to the Orange.
Losing to Boston College looks really bad on the FSU resume, and they will be hungry against Syracuse. SU also has had two weeks to prepare for a group that is struggling offensively worse than they have in years.
Syracuse is 1-9 all-time against Florida State, including nine straight losses (and every game since SU joined the ACC). Last time they were down in Tallahassee, the Orange fell 45-21.
So that’s a pretty close line. Are you tempted to place a bet there? Syracuse is 6-1-1 against the spread this season, but has never come within more than 24 points on the road vs. FSU.
