Syracuse commit Tyrone Sampson earns Army All-American bowl invite

The Orange center commit will play in the 2018 game in San Antonio, Tex.

Syracuse Orange Class of 2018 commit Tyrone Sampson has been invited to play in the 2018 Army All-American game in San Antonio. Sampson who is scheduled to enroll at Syracuse in January announced the selection earlier today.

The U.S. Army All-American rosters are selected from a list of the top 400 seniors in the country (another Syracuse 2018 commit Qadir White was on the initial list). This year’s game will be broadcast on NBC on Saturday January 6, 2018 at 1 p.m. ET. Orange fans will be able to watch the broadcast as a lead-in to the home basketball game against Notre Dame later that afternoon.... maybe SU will even show some of early parts of the Army All-American game on the Carrier Dome video boards.

Sampson is expected to compete for a starting position next Fall and has remained a strong verbal commitment to the Orange even after an outstanding performance at last summer’s The Opening Finals.

Some positive Syracuse football news is welcome after the last couple of weeks. Do you think Sampson’s the type of player who can convince people to remain patient in the Babers’ rebuild?
