There’s no Syracuse Orange game this weekend, but that doesn’t mean we can’t look ahead a little to the following Saturday’s matchup. To kick off the back third of the SU schedule, the Orange will visit the Florida State Seminoles at 12:20 p.m. ET on November 4. The game is set to be broadcast on ACC Network.
Now, before you get irate about the streaming-only option, it’s not ACC Network Extra. So there’s a chance this game ends up on your local RSN, along with streaming on TheACC.com. Of course we’d love to be on national TV again, but FSU’s current returns don’t really warrant it, unfortunately.
Since losing starting quarterback Deondre Francois in game one, the ‘Noles have assembled a 2-4 overall record while struggling immensely on offense. Despite an uptick in production last week, there’s a caveat for Louisville’s defense. Also, Florida State still fell, 31-28.
This is not to make light of FSU’s situation — as we know, losing your quarterback is awful. Additionally, they’re still a far more talented team than Syracuse, despite the differing win totals (four for SU, vs. two right now for the Seminoles).
Syracuse is 1-9 all-time against Florida State, losing nine straight in the series (including every ACC matchup so far). SU’s last win against the Seminoles was in 1966, a 37-21 victory at home. The Orange lost the game 45-14 at the Dome last year. It was actually the first time Syracuse failed to hit 20 points vs. FSU since 2013.
