NCAA Football: Syracuse at Miami Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

The Syracuse Orange couldn’t quite get their second top-10 victory in row, but that doesn’t mean that the rest of the country wasn’t impressed. As we’ve been doing each week, we bring you some of the discussion points involving the Orange. So let’s dive into the post-week eight talking points.

  • Thanks to #DisloyalIdiot David Hale it’s a two spot slide for the Orange in this week’s ESPN ACC Power Rankings as they drop down to 10th. A close loss on the road to the Miami Hurricanes wasn’t enough for Hale to keep Syracuse ahead of both the Boston College Eagles and Virginia Cavaliers.
  • Syracuse slides three spots to 47th in The All-American weekly rankings, who are also giving BC a lot of love this week... sure it’s a nice two weeks for Coach Addazio’s Dudes, but there’s still this
  • Bill C’s S&P+ now shows Syracuse at 66th which is down seven spots from last week. The computers don’t really measure grit and heart and after a four-turnover, uneven offensive performance on Saturday, the slide is understandable here.
  • Syracuse moves down four spots to 53rd in the CBSSports rankings, which puts them one spot ahead of the Orange’s next opponent the Florida State Seminoles.
  • Jeff Sagarin’s weekly rankings has the Orange up nine spots to 52nd. Sagarin’s also one of the few folks with Syracuse ahead of BC, so kudos to him.
  • Eric Dungey also received an amazing accolade when he earned a spot on “Stugotz’s Weekend Observations” during today’s Dan LeBatard Show. #Respeckt
