Syracuse’s loss makes a difference in the polls.

We’re now in full swing of the college football season, and while the Syracuse Orange aren’t going anywhere in the polls, their past and future opponents sure are.

ACC football has not played out as expected. NC State clearly earned their spot in the polls with the win this week. FSU is cold as ice and keeps falling (despite a win over Wake Forest). Here’s a quick look at which SU foes are ranked this week.

(AP/Coaches)

No. 2/No. 2 Clemson Tigers

Same old, same old. Clemson rolled through (No. 16/No. 19) Virginia Tech 31-17. Quarterback Kelly Bryant just dominated with 94 rushing yards and 186 passing yards. They take on Wake Forest next week before coming to the Dome.

No. 13/No. 12 Miami Hurricanes

Up one spot in both polls. Miami beat Duke (yay) 31-6. Their defense looked solid but has yet to really be tested this year. QB Malik Rosier threw two touchdowns and ran in another. Also got this awesome picture.

No. 17/No. 17 Louisville Cardinals

Louisville went up a spot in the coaches poll after crushing Murray State 55-10. Lamar Jackson caught some eyes again with a 349 yard, two touchdown day.

No. 24/No. 24 N.C. State Wolfpack

Welcome to the top 25! NC State is the hottest team in the ACC right now, especially compared to expectations. Syracuse gave them a good fight and came up short, but if they keep rolling at least we can say a Syracuse loss was a moral victory? Maybe.

Also receiving votes: Just Florida State. LSU fell all the way off the radar, and Wake Forest lost all of their votes with the defeat vs. Florida State.
